Wild Ferns Lanolin Facial Serum With Royal Jelly & Vitamin A

Wild Ferns has recently made it over to Malaysia from its birthplace, New Zealand. They take pride in including ingredients such as Manuka Honey, Kiwifruit, Rotorua Mud and Lanolin which are a part of New Zealand's natural heritage to create luxurious and environmentally friendly products.

The serum that I have here, the Facial Serum with Royal Jelly & Vitamin A from the Lanolin range, is quite a mouthful, so I am going to shorten it and call it the Facial Serum. I singled it out from the many options that I was presented with because of the short yet jam-packed ingredient list that you will see at the very end. Ingredient lists are everything to me these days. Haha!

This intensive care facial serum enhanced with Lanolin, Royal Jelly and Vitamin A provides the perfect antidote for tired and lacklustre skin.

Containing pure Lanolin, renowned for its intensive moisturising properties, Royal Jelly to nourish and energise the skin, and Vitamin A to promote skin renewal and minimise the appearance of fine lines, when your skin needs an extra boost of rejuvenation this is the ideal concentrate to provide all that is essential for extra vitality and radiance. Name: Wild Ferns Lanolin Facial Serum with Royal Jelly & Vitamin A
Price: RM 107 for 50 ml
Made in: New Zealand

The Facial Serum has a thick fluid texture that sinks into my skin in a jiffy leaving no greasy residue. I have combination dehydrated skin and this serum suits my skin type. By that I mean it does not break me out nor cause any adverse reactions.

It has a peculiar but tolerable scent that I cannot put my finger on. It is nothing like anything that I have ever sniffed before, so I cannot even make a comparison for you. As a disclaimer, I seriously doubt that it smells like livestock but who knows? The last time I neared a sheep was more than ten years ago.

The instructions on the back of the box mention that you should only use it two to three times a week. Aren't serums meant to be used on a daily basis for maximum benefits? It mystified me a little but I still followed it to a tee.

Since I already have an opened bottle of Vitamin C serum on my dresser, I alternate it with the Facial Serum. As you well know, Vitamin C serums prevent signs of ageing and also promote overall brightness.

This serum makes similar promises. It works in tandem with my Vitamin C serum but it does not go the extra mile by boosting the effects that the Vitamin C serum gave me. I failed to see an improvement in my skintone or the texture of my skin.

However, on its own, it makes a marvelous moisturising treat.

Before.

After.

I would have liked to use by itself or to pair it with another accompaniment serum, which is the reason why you should take this review with a grain of salt. A lot of factors will influence its performance, so you will most probably experience different results from me. It is simply impossible to gauge its efficacy.

If you are interested to conduct a little experiment of your own, you can find this serum and the rest of its family at theSkintopic stores, where they range from RM 48 for the Soap, to RM 107 for the Facial Serum.

Always love how you shoot your products, the pearls go so well with the skincare products! Hmmm maybe because it's so rich that if you use it every day you're likely to break out? Like a mask kind of? Love your little moisture measuring tool, SO COOL

You always take such great photographs dear. The texture does look thick and its good hear the it absorbs quickly in to that. I've never heard of only using a serum few days out of the week.
