Sampar Poreless Magic Peel

Woe is me! I have the hard to treat combination skin. Some products are too moisturising which leads to breakouts while some are too dry for me, and this usually results in unsightly peeling. So you can envision my glee when I was presented with Poreless Magic Peel.

With its formula rich in restorative enzymes, Poreless Magic Peel swoops in to save your skin in the fight against imperfections, smoothing its surface and reinforcing its natural ability to repair and heal. This daily anti-blemish solution is ideal for combination and oily skin. (Source:

Price: RM 126 for 30 ml
Made in: France

This day moisturiser has a gel-like consistency. It sinks into the skin quickly and leaves my skin silky smooth. It provides sufficient hydration without leaving my skin dry or tight.

At first I was shaken by the unique aroma (sulphur comes to mind) but a few seconds after it settles into my skin, it begins to emit a refreshing and minty smell. I am guessing that this is the workings of the natural essential oils?

This magical potion softens the skin's texture like no other. It unclogs my U-zone from impurities, but is not able to replicate its success on my T-zone.

I also noticed that it is lacking in the mattifying department. It does not eliminate the need for blotting sheets. As usual, my T-zone thwarts any attempts made to tame it. It becomes as shiny as it can possibly be with or without Poreless Magic Peel.

I would love to cut Sampar some slack (you know I love this brand to bits!) but I can't seeing as it fails to meet my expectations. Sampar needs to amp up the dosage of Lentil Seed Extract in the formulation to keep oilies and thus comedones in check.

Still, some do enjoy Poreless Magic Peel. Reviews here and here. If you find yourself interested in it after reading their accounts, head on over to the Sampar counter at Parkson Sunway Pyramid or Robinsons The Gardens.

Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina Eau De Toilette

Signorina Eau de Toilette has big shoes to fill as the follow-up to the floriental fruity Signorina Eau de Parfum.

Salvatore Ferragamo says:
Signorina Eau de Toilette, the celebration of a chic girl's most joyful facet. The ideal fragrance for a romantic young woman who expresses her graceful sensuality through a natural elegance. An exceptionally fresh scent signature with the vivaciously cheeky soul of Signorina.

Name: Salvatore Ferragamo サルヴァトーレ フェラガモ Signorina シニョリーナ Eau de Toilette オードトワレ
Price: RM 265 for 50 ml
Made in: Italy

While Signorina Eau de Parfum is creamy and velvety, Signorina Eau de Toilette stands at the other end of the spectrum as the fresher and fruitier sister. Nevertheless, Signorina Eau de Toilette still comes across as a warm and woodsy scent with juicy lychee notes wafting through every now and then.

As with most Eau de Toilettes, it lacks longevity. It begins to wear off shortly after the four hour mark.

The precious liquid sits in a rectangular glass spray bottle topped off with the iconic Vara bow in pink and lilac. The rose gold lover in me could not help but to swoon over the lid crowning the bottle. It is so unapologetically feminine and you know it has already claimed a spot on my vanity.

Armed with my trusty camera, I hotfooted down to the launch of this perfume on March 26th (now you know how backdated this post is haha), so it is only natural that I got a little snap happy.

During the event, attendees were given the option to get their bottles engraved. Huge props to the Salvatore Ferragamo team getting it all done in a short time frame. Such a sweet touch!

Signorina Eau de Toilette is guaranteed to stir your senses, give it a sniff the next time you happen by a Salvatore Ferragamo counter! Prices start from RM 190 and it is available nationwide in 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml bottles.

And for fans in or visiting Florence, Museo Salvatore Ferragamo is hosting a new exhibition, The Amazing Shoemaker, from 19th April 2013 to 31st March 2014. It explores the role that shoes play in fairy tales, myths and legends as wearing shoes has historically been seen as a sign of wealth and power.

Don't miss the featurettes and constantly updating contents on, as well as on Ferragamo's official pages:

Lunasol Nature Color Eyes 01 Nature Blue Review, Swatches, EOTD

I am such a neutral lover that I completely turned my back on Nature Blue for three whole years. It has always lingered at the back of my mind, should I use it or swap it? I am too much of a Lunasol lover to let it go, so here is a review at long last.

Name: Lunasol ルナソル Nature Color Eyes ネイチャーカラーアイズ 01 Nature Blue
Price: ¥ 5,000 for 5.5 g
@cosme rating: 5.0
Release date: 15.1.2010

Lunasol has improved a fair bit from their older releases. I really enjoy the finely milled buttery texture.

The colours clockwise from bottom left: pale fern green, ivory, powder blue, dark chocolate. The colours are easily buildable and blendable and they have a hint translucency without compromising on colour payoff.

Natural light

Muted flash

Nature Blue as seen on Akiko Tsunoda from Sweet magazine.

I was inspired by her look.

Lasting power was pretty decent with some minor creasing at the inner corners. The shadows except for the powder blue shade remained vibrant throughout the day without any fading.

Will Nature Blue show up on tanned skintones? Definitely! The opposite is true in this case, it might be too pale for fairer ladies.

If you want to experiment with colours but are afraid of looking too crazy, the Lunasol counter will be your place to go. They have plenty of subtle and elegant colours at their disposal.

L'Oreal Renewal Lash Serum

I was already impressed before I even started using Renewal Lash Serum. It is a product that won several @cosme awards. High praise indeed coming from finicky Japanese consumers!

Name: L'Oréal Paris ロレアル パリ Renewal Lash Serum ラッシュ セラム
Price: RM 49.90 for 7.5 ml
@cosme rating: 4.6
Made in: China

As you well know, it has been a couple of months since I last reviewed a lash enhancing product. It is so hard to get back into the swing of things! I had to place the Renewal Lash Serum on my nightstand so it will be the first thing I would see when I open my eyes.

This is what L'Oréal says about the product:
L’Oréal's Renewal Lash Serum for visibily more lashes in just 4 weeks! Enriched with Arginine and Centella for a nourishing lash boost. Lashes feel fortified, look renewed. Clinically Tested.

A tube has a generous amount of product inside - 7.5 ml.

Curvy soft-touch applicator.

Application is done in the morning before mascara, and at night, when your skin is clean and you are getting ready for bed. I realised that the serum leaves a white crust on my lashes when it dries and thus have stopped using in the morning ever since.

My lashes became a little fuller compared with the first usage, a little over 5 weeks ago. I would include before and after pictures but I was a bit absent minded, so here is the one and only picture taken after 2 weeks of everyday use.

One other benefit? Eyelashes on my cheeks or floating around in my eyes are no longer a commonplace occurrence. They are much healthier now.

It is all thanks to Only Beauty that this post came to life. Haven't heard of Only Beauty? It is a free sampling platform, the first of its kind in Malaysia and it only specialises in beauty related products. If you would like to be a member, visit

Lacoste Eau De Lacoste Pour Femme Eau De Parfum

Eau de Lacoste is the sensorial equivalent of the Lacoste fashion design philosophy: the iconic crocodile, the petit piqué cotton and the classic lineage of the Lacoste fashion label.

Name: Lacoste ラコステ Eau de Lacoste オードラコステ Pour Femme プールファム Eau de Parfum オードパルファム
Price: RM 163 for 30 ml
Made in: UK

As soon as I saw images of the bottle I knew instantly that it was something that I could come to love. The spherical bottle, graduating in colour from nude to white, is completed by a petit piqué-textured cap. Do note that the 30 ml flacon does not come with a metal charm.

To evoke the refreshing feeling of pure white cotton on skin, Eau de Lacoste has top notes of white pineapple, mandarin and bergamot, clean and pure heart notes of orange flower, jasmine sambac and pineapple flower resting on a creamy sensual base of sandalwood, vanilla, vetyver and peru balsam.

The result? A simple yet refreshing potion that leaves a sweet floral trail to mesmerise the senses. It is light, delicate and wearable all year round.

The wear time is great and lingers on the skin for hours on as expected of an Eau de Parfum.

You can pick up Eau de Lacoste from all major department stores. This fragrance line consists of an Eau de Parfum available in 30 ml, 50 ml and 90 ml in addition to matching body products.

It has been spotted in many countries so I am pretty sure that some of you have already tried it. Let me know what you think!
