Rouge Bunny Rouge Sketches On Water Tinted Moisturiser Review, Swatches, FOTD

Rouge Bunny Rouge is a whimsical, high end European brand with a global cult following.

RBR is sold in a select few countries and countless web stores including its very own web boutique. It drew my attention with the description of its tinted moisturiser. Skincare benefits? Count me in please! I have worn it daily for the past two weeks and I have a verdict for you.

This fluid Tinted Moisturiser gives your skin seamless, radiant glow and quietly underlines your natural beauty. The sublimely light texture refreshes with a high percentage of water and absorbs quickly, leaving an imperceptible film that veils small imperfections.

Loaded with botanicals and skin protective ingredients, our Tinted Moisturiser nourishes, hydrates and protects your skin against negative environmental factors like pollution and UVB rays. It includes Vitamin A and E which have anti-ageing and anti-oxidant properties; Malachite Extract is rich in copper and detoxifies the skin; it is also anti-oxidant. Smithsonite Extract provides natural UVB protection and is rich in Zinc, an essential mineral for the skin that aids healing. Laminaria Digitata Extract (Oarweed, a seaweed rich in calcium and potassium) fights fatigue, reinforcing the cells' natural defences and is anti-bacterial. Hyaluronic Acid and PCA attract and bind moisture into the skin, preventing and treating dehydration.** Botanical Squalene (from olives) prevents water loss by helping repair the hydro-lipidic film whilst maintaining tone and elasticity and Prunus Extract (from the Cherry Tree) is rich in Isoflavones to naturally improve firmness.

Name: Rouge Bunny Rouge Sketches On Water Tinted Moisturiser 043 Querqus
Price: € 51 for 30 ml
Made in: Italy

This tinted moisturiser spread easily and evenly without much effort. The formula is so light and airy that you can't even tell that you have it on.

I am very much taken with makeup wedges these days and I use it to apply everything - from sunscreen to foundation or in this case, tinted moisturiser. It has staying power (when paired with my trusty primer and setting powder) and does not oxidise throughout the day.

It offers a sheer buildable coverage with a natural finish; it is not matte but certainly not dewy either. It is sufficient to conceal redness and uneven skin colour nicely. It also does not accentuate dry patches.

It does not really help to control oily breakthrough nor does it exacerbate it. I started seeing a sheen on my T-zone about three hours after I applied it - this is normal for me.

There are only three shades, of which I have the darkest, so it does not cater to everyone. 043 Querqus is a fairly decent match for my skintone. I do think it is a tad too dark and brown for my extremely yellow undertone but it is nothing that a setting powder can't fix.

On the model. She is wearing 042 Sequoia.

Will I shell out for another tube when it runs out? I am on the fence.. Sketches On Water Tinted Moisturiser is my first tinted moisturiser but I do prefer it over a traditional liquid foundation and that is saying something for a person who practically lives in liquid foundations.

On the other hand, remember the claim in the beginning of this post? I did not notice the texture of my skin getting better (in fact, I have been getting little bumps around my temples. I will update this review again in the near future as the bumps might be caused by other products) but I acknowledge that it is a little hard for a makeup product to improve my skin's overall appearance.

So ladies, what do you think? Have you tried this tinted moisturiser?

Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Lipstick Pink Flush

There is nothing not to love with Shu Uemura's Rouge Unlimited range. The combination of the sublime texture and the gorgeous colour palette is irresistible!

Name: Shu Uemura シュウ ウエムラ Rouge Unlimited ルージュ アンリミテッド Pink Flush ピンク フラッシュ
Price: RM 75 for 3.7 g
@cosme rating: 4.6
Release date: 1.11.2011

Pink Flush was released in limited quantities for Holiday 2011 in collaboration with acclaimed Hong Kong filmmaker Wong Kar Wai. Whilst at the CCO a month ago, I unearthed this baby for 40% off the RSP.

You can no longer see these stubby tubes in stores because Shu Uemura repackaged them to a sleeker and slimmer form recently. Not that this update makes a huge difference since they still come in transparent plastic tubes, haha!

Pink Flush is a cool muted pink beige. It has the faint candied orange blossom scent that is prevalent across the Rouge Unlimited range.

As mentioned earlier, the texture is just divine. It is moisturising and imparts a glossy sheen. It also deposits the right amount of colour to override pigmented lips without looking overdone.

Fall 2012 sees the arrival of more lipsticks in the form of Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte, but I have got my eyes on the Glow On blush in the shade Framboisier. It will be my first Shu Uemura blush!

Are you getting anything from this collection?

Mitsubishi Style-Fit × Majolica Majorca

A collaboration between Mitsubishi Pencil Company and Majolica Majorca?! You read that correctly! The result? Pens with a touch of whimsy. Perfect for us who love stationery, Majolica Majorca and the term limited edition.

Name: Style-Fit スタイルフィット × Majolica Majorca マジョリカ マジョルカ
Price: RM 7.50
Release date: 21.5.2012
Made in: Japan

The body holders have four designs and they may be exceedingly cute but I did not even spare them a second glance. The fat bodies are not my cup of tea haha.

The pen refills come in a six shades but black was too popular and went out of stock by the time I managed to make my way to a Style-Fit display...

I refused to go home empty handed, and so I settled on sky blue. The other colours are nice but I know I won't find much use out of them.

I adore the super slim 0.38 mm nib. It is similar to the Uniball Signo DX (also manufactured by Mitsubishi Pencil Company) 0.38 mm nib which is the only pen that I buy. In case you are wondering, my favourite is the colour blue-black.

Here is a look at the Style-Fit x Majolica Majorca display.

Did you get your paws on these pens? Is Style-Fit sold at your place?

Aqualabel Bright White EX

Touted as the high street alternative to its higher end sister, Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum, both Intensive Spot Targeting Serum and Bright White EX feature the same cutting-edge ingredient: m-Tranexamic Acid.

M-Tranexamic Acid was discovered to suppress melanocyte activation and its effectiveness in brightening products was approved by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare in 2002.

Name: Aqualabel アクアレーベル Bright White EX シミ対策美容液
Price: RM 79.90 for 45 ml
@cosme rating: 4.2
Release date: 21.2.2009

This serum has a light fluid texture. It absorbs almost instantly and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth to the touch.

My skin looks glowy and radiant these days and this serum kept it up. What is also fabulous about it is the lack of a scent (Intensive Spot Targeting Serum smells strongly of alcohol).

For more intensive results, I smooth on a liberal amount before using a brightening sheet mask on top. The aftereffect is amazing, my face looks super fair and supple.

I read about layering serums under sheet masks from several Taiwanese blogs (they were using the Bright White EX serum) and those bloggers had nothing but praise for this technique.

On the downside, it does not seem to do a thing for hyperpigmentation. Perhaps I have not been using it long enough for my hyperpigmentation (old and very stubborn) to vanish? Sometimes it takes a couple of bottles and a lot of patience for results to materialise...

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Dreaming In Portofino Eau De Toilette

At the heart of the Italian Riviera lay a haven of natural beauty and glamorous style; Portofino is a location intrinsic to the illustrious Dolce & Gabbana heritage. In Portofino, faded pastel houses line the quay while yachts slowly glide in the inky blue waters.

Now that sense of reverie and intense sensuality has been captured forever with the new limited edition Light Blue Dreaming in Portofino for women, the latest incarnations of the iconic Summer fragrances that brings the sensuality of nature and the glamour of the Italian coast to life.
Dolce & Gabbana

Name: Dolce & Gabbana ドルチェ & ガッパーナ Light Blue ライトブルー Dreaming in Portofino ドリーミング イン ポルトフィーノ Eau de Toilette オードトワレ
Price: RM 267 for 50 ml
Release date: 1.7.2012 (Malaysia)
Made in: UK

So what can be said about Dreaming in Portofino? I wasn't instantly teleported to the idyllic Mediterranean coast with one sniff. In lieu, I found myself walking through an English garden in the midst of spring with the sun shining brightly on the top of my head.

The perfume is a combination of crisp airy and sensual scents, with top notes of sun-kissed litchi and musky ambrette seed, heart notes of creamy iris and heady osmanthus, and finally, base notes of resinous amber and woody patchouli.

The blue coloured fragrance (the gentle shimmer of the sea comes to mind) is encased in a clear geometric column with a frosted white cap. The bottle itself is very simple, unassuming and sadly, pales in comparison with some of the cuter perfume bottles sitting on my mirrored tray.

I received compliments from random passers-by who caught a whiff of it, which was both flattering and worrying when they demanded that I disclose the name perfume that I was wearing stat.

This perfume is something that I would buy if I sprayed it on myself in the stores. I really really like it!

Dreaming in Portofino is available in Eau de Toilette form for RM 189 (25 ml), RM 267 (50 ml) and RM 344 (100 ml). Act quickly before it is gone!
