Hada Labo Premium Hydrating Lotion

The Premium Hydrating Lotion contains 5 types of Hyaluronic Acid, helping the skin to hold on to moisture and making products applied after even more effective.

Name: Hada Labo 肌ラボ Premium Hydrating Lotion 極潤プレミアムヒアルロン液
Price: RM 63.50 for 170 ml
@cosme rating: 5
Release date: 26.8.2015
Made in: Japan

Each type of Hyaluronic Acid provides the skin with the following benefits:

Hyaluronic Acid
Forms a layer of moisture retention barrier on skin's surface to prevent moisture loss.

Super Hyaluronic Acid
With 2 times moisture retention capacity of Hyaluronic Acid to lock-in and retain large volume of moisture inside the skin for super hydration.

Nano Hyaluronic Acid
With fine molecule size that can penetrate deeply into skin to provide moisture deep down into the inner skin layers.

Absorbent Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid with strong holding feature that allows it to stay longer on skin even after sweat or washing.

3D Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic Acid that is closely bound together to form a 3D moisture net that wraps the skin to provide superior and long-lasting moisture retention.

I can't rave about this enough - it is so, so hydrating. In fact, it healed the dry patches around my jawline in just 2 days. My skin is very temperamental these days, and it can change from normal to sandpaper within a night. You can tell I am crying as I type this right? Haha!

I usually use this is a pre-serum moisture boost. The order goes like this: boosting treatment, toner, this lotion, serum, followed by a moisturiser to lock everything in.

I think it would be good in countries with low humidity too, in which it will absorb into the skin in a jiffy. Here it takes longer to sink in but the good thing is, it doesn't feel sticky even though the liquid gelatinous texture may suggest otherwise.

Find it at Watsons for RM 63.50!

Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Ultra Essence Mist

It is simply impossible to go wrong with mists. And what do we get when we add a whole host of plant extracts and oils to the equation? Utter fabulousness. Nope, that is not a made up a word!

Name: Holika Holika 홀리카홀리카 Skin & Good Cera Ultra Essence Mist 스킨 앤 굳세라 울트라 에센스 미스트
Price: ₩ 13,900 for 100 ml
Made in: Korea

The Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Ultra Essence Mist satisfies all the three criteria that I have for mists:

Sinks in quickly
I can't stand mists that leave a sticky film. I want to refresh my face, not make it worse!

Smells amazing
I want something that comforts and nurtures the skin and my mood the moment I spritz some on. I almost thought that the aroma was lifted out from the shelves of an Aromatherapy Associates boutique!

Sold where I am at
We have Holika Holika stores in Malaysia but it is far cheaper for me to buy it online. The same line's Skin & Good Cera Super Ceramide Cream sells for RM 102.40 in Malaysia versus ₩ 18,900 (≈ RM 70) in Korea. Just make sure that you log a purchase from reliable retailers.

Aerosol mechanism
A hidden fourth criterion (I can count!), and it is not as important as the three above. The fine gentle breeze just makes life so much easier. No more worrying about the bracing spray washing away my makeup!

My #1 mist for years has been Sampar's Skin Quenching Mist. I am not bothered by the price (I know I was in that old review, haha!) just its lack of presence in our shores. I should have stocked up when the brand was still around but I did not know any better then. At least now I have a replacement in Skin & Good Cera Ultra Essence Mist!
