They possess the same fatty acids to restore the lips' moisture barrier, namely olive oil, macadamia oil, meadowfoam oil, jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, oat oil and sunflower oil. The minute difference lie in a couple of ingredients: Lip Pure Botanical Oils has antioxidants avocado oil and argan oil as well as soothing canola oil, whereas Lip Pure Fragrance Free combines antibacterial coconut oil, polyphenol-rich grapeseed oil and emollient squalane to give parched pouts instant relief.

Dull and fatigued condition... I use the Honey Revitalizing Face Mask (RM 7.90 for 22 ml). It harnesses the power of honey to soothe while tranexamic acid and vitamin C brighten, leaving my skin refreshed and energised.

Dry and sensitive condition... I use the Lavender Soothing & Hydrating Face Mask (RM 7.90 for 22 ml). Drenched in hydrating superstar hyaluronic acid and enriched with calming lavender oil, this sheet mask gives my face a boost of dew-like moisture within minutes.

I use this easily absorbed lotion morning and night by patting over skin with clean fingers, or a cotton pad if I am in a hurry. I try not to make a habit out of it because it is wasteful, but sometimes I just can't help it, haha! I love how effectively this lotion deals with my oily skin yet leaves it looking dewy.

The plants give it a subtle herbal fragrance, while the menthol content invigorates. I pair it with the matching foaming wash (RM 42.90 for 160 ml) and together they make quite a difference. This range is pH balanced, free of colourant and mineral oil.

Unlike what its name suggests, Lano Soft isn't purely lanolin based – it has got extra bits and pieces added in, like jojoba oil for its balancing properties and argan oil to nourish and regenerate.

Not only does this lip balm provides serious moisturisation, it also lends my puckers a whole lot of shine. It is still hard at work hours and hours after my initial application, and it even perseveres against a cuppa and my incessant lip smackings. It is so lovely that I have completely forsaken my other lip balms (sorry guys!)!

This ultra-nourishing formula of vitamin E, olive oil and jojoba oil is available in two shades: Pure Red ピュアレッド and Rose Pink ローズピンク. Pure Red is a warm toned pink, whereas Rose Pink is a cool toned pink (as far as the eye can tell anyways). You can tell the difference if you concentrate hard enough (on paper!), but they can hardly be distinguished once they go on the lips.

The colour payoff is very much subdued - a sheer pink, just enough to make my lips look flushed and healthy. My apologies if my swatches give the impression that Pure Red and Rose Pink are terribly pigmented; I went over that same spot at least a thousand times (greatly exaggerated but you get the gist, heh).

There's no denying Hada Labo's expertise in lotions, and the brand new Oil-in-Lotion feels so much lighter compared to the original. That said, my skin feels fine all day even when I skip everything else. I am not sure this would be the case with drier skins, so think twice before you emulate this lazy blogger's doings.

I find a new spot in the evening if I use the lotion in the morning. Every time, without fail. This could indicate purging due to something in the formulation or could just be a result of too many snacks... sorry guys, I will refrain from gobbling everything unhealthy in sight when testing out skincare products in the future!

This blip aside, my skin hasn't been any different to how it was with my usual lotion. Definitely not enough for me to want to run back and repurchase. There is a whole new world of lotions out there waiting for me!

Hada Labo Lifting + Firming Part II

Continuing my previous work...

The Lifting + Firming Cream (RM 78.00 for 50 g) boosts the skin's moisture levels to banish dryness and tightness. Although the range as a whole gets a thumbs-up, this velvety moisturiser has got to be my top pick. It leaves the skin so much plumper and firmer by the next morning.

Brand-new on the market from Hada Labo is the Lifting + Firming Wrinkle Care Cream (RM 74.90 for 30 g). It targets age sensitive contours around the lips and eyes. The rich cream (like one of those balmy eye creams!) nourishes the skin, imparting a smooth appearance.

Finally, there's the Lifting + Firming Mask (RM 52.90 for 20 ml ×4). The mask is a good size albeit thick, but the essence left my face so sticky that I ended up rinsing it off. Someone living in a drier climate will be very happy with this mask. Me? Not so much.
