Rouge Bunny Rouge Long-lasting Eyeshadow Trumpeter Koel Review, Swatches, EOTD

I have been using When Birds Are Singing Long-lasting Eyeshadow in Trumpeter Koel daily for three weeks now. I usually use it to soften and set my liquid eyeliner. If I am feeling adventurous, I will use it in my outer corners but that does not happen too often. I can't blend to save my life. Haha!

Discover a new powder eye shadow with an astonishing lightweight, creamy touch and unprecedented adherence. This formula creates pure dynamic iridescence while it maintains second skin effect. It has extended 8-hour wear that will stay perfect and look freshly applied all day. Orange-derived Flavonoid improves blood microcirculation, enhances luminosity and serves as free radicals scavenger. (Source: rougebunnyrouge.com/)

Name: Rouge Bunny Rouge When Birds Are Singing Long-lasting Eyeshadow 068 Trumpeter Koel
Price: € 24 for 2 g
Release: April 2012
Made in: Italy

Trumpeter Koel is a pewter grey with silvery blue shimmer particles. It is described as a dark lead-grey with lilac-blue iridescence on the Rouge Bunny Rouge site.

Despite what's shown in the swatches, it is not a dark and intense colour. Even layering does not help it to overpower a black liquid liner that is applied beforehand. Nonetheless, it works brilliantly for me. Grey is not as harsh as a black and that makes it the perfect colour for a subtle day time look.

The shadow has good colour payoff. It has a silky satin finish with zero grit and applies smoothly like butter. The texture alone makes it worth the € 24 price tag.

There was hardly any fallout during the application process. Despite lasting the whole day without smudging or fading, it didn't prove its mettle when I detected creasing along my inner corners. And yes, this is with an eye primer underneath. I always prep my lids with an eye primer whenever I apply makeup, it keeps gunk from building up in the creases of my eyelids.

My look with Trumpeter Koel. For the rest of my eye I used Max Factor Chic Monotone, Kate Super Sharp Liner BK-1, Empro Brown & Black Mascara and Visee Glam Glow Eyes GR-4 for a little bit of green. It makes a refreshing change from the neutral colours that I usually sport.

Since my EOTD is a little lacking, here is how Trumpeter Koel looks like on the RBR model.

Rouge Bunny Rouge Sketches On Water Tinted Moisturiser Review, Swatches, FOTD

Rouge Bunny Rouge is a whimsical, high end European brand with a global cult following.

RBR is sold in a select few countries and countless web stores including its very own web boutique. It drew my attention with the description of its tinted moisturiser. Skincare benefits? Count me in please! I have worn it daily for the past two weeks and I have a verdict for you.

This fluid Tinted Moisturiser gives your skin seamless, radiant glow and quietly underlines your natural beauty. The sublimely light texture refreshes with a high percentage of water and absorbs quickly, leaving an imperceptible film that veils small imperfections.

Loaded with botanicals and skin protective ingredients, our Tinted Moisturiser nourishes, hydrates and protects your skin against negative environmental factors like pollution and UVB rays. It includes Vitamin A and E which have anti-ageing and anti-oxidant properties; Malachite Extract is rich in copper and detoxifies the skin; it is also anti-oxidant. Smithsonite Extract provides natural UVB protection and is rich in Zinc, an essential mineral for the skin that aids healing. Laminaria Digitata Extract (Oarweed, a seaweed rich in calcium and potassium) fights fatigue, reinforcing the cells' natural defences and is anti-bacterial. Hyaluronic Acid and PCA attract and bind moisture into the skin, preventing and treating dehydration.** Botanical Squalene (from olives) prevents water loss by helping repair the hydro-lipidic film whilst maintaining tone and elasticity and Prunus Extract (from the Cherry Tree) is rich in Isoflavones to naturally improve firmness.

Name: Rouge Bunny Rouge Sketches On Water Tinted Moisturiser 043 Querqus
Price: € 51 for 30 ml
Made in: Italy

This tinted moisturiser spread easily and evenly without much effort. The formula is so light and airy that you can't even tell that you have it on.

I am very much taken with makeup wedges these days and I use it to apply everything - from sunscreen to foundation or in this case, tinted moisturiser. It has staying power (when paired with my trusty primer and setting powder) and does not oxidise throughout the day.

It offers a sheer buildable coverage with a natural finish; it is not matte but certainly not dewy either. It is sufficient to conceal redness and uneven skin colour nicely. It also does not accentuate dry patches.

It does not really help to control oily breakthrough nor does it exacerbate it. I started seeing a sheen on my T-zone about three hours after I applied it - this is normal for me.

There are only three shades, of which I have the darkest, so it does not cater to everyone. 043 Querqus is a fairly decent match for my skintone. I do think it is a tad too dark and brown for my extremely yellow undertone but it is nothing that a setting powder can't fix.

On the model. She is wearing 042 Sequoia.

Will I shell out for another tube when it runs out? I am on the fence.. Sketches On Water Tinted Moisturiser is my first tinted moisturiser but I do prefer it over a traditional liquid foundation and that is saying something for a person who practically lives in liquid foundations.

On the other hand, remember the claim in the beginning of this post? I did not notice the texture of my skin getting better (in fact, I have been getting little bumps around my temples. I will update this review again in the near future as the bumps might be caused by other products) but I acknowledge that it is a little hard for a makeup product to improve my skin's overall appearance.

So ladies, what do you think? Have you tried this tinted moisturiser?
