Clarins Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil

Specially formulated for dehydrated skin, Clarins's Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil limits water loss while locking moisture in the epidermis, ensuring constant radiance and luminosity.

Name: Clarins 클라란스 Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil 블루 오키드 페이스 트리트먼트 오일
Price: RM 185.50 for 30 ml
Made in: France

The oil contains Hazelnut Oil, a rich source of anti-free radical vitamin E and nourishing fatty acids to improve both permanent and temporary skin imbalances and essential oils of Rosewood and Patchouli along with Blue Orchid Extract to revitalise and tone giving 100% total well-being, balance and serenity.

It is a scent that takes some getting used to - it doesn't immediately attract (like most of their products!) yet it is soothing enough. After a while, I even find myself looking forward to cocoon myself (or my face at least) in the herbaceous, warm, yet somewhat spicy aroma; I suppose that is my nose desensitising itself, haha!

I mix 2 drops of the oil with any of the lotions on my vanity (currently, I have the SNP Za Aryeon Eun Yoon Skin and Mamonde Rose Water Toner). The resulting solution floats on the skin for a bit before settling in but it is way speedier than using it alone. It doesn't absorb as easily as Josie Maran's 100% Pure Argan Oil for example, and comparatively, it is not that lightweight of an oil.

There is plenty of time for me to work in lovely massage and have enough leftover to smear onto my pillow. The wondrous thing about this oil is that it packs a punch when it comes to getting the skin supple and plumptious. I find that I can skip moisturiser altogether; it simply is that rich! I can't do this with Josie Maran's oil though, so if you have a problem with dryness, you may want to opt for Clarins's version instead.

Are you new to oils? One of Clarins's three blends will not lead you amiss!

The full ingredient list for Blue Orchid Face Treatment Oil:
Corylus Avellana (Hazel) Seed Oil, Pogostemon Cablin Oil, Parfum/Fragrance, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Orchid Extract, Linalool, Limonene, Coumarin, Eugenol [V1640H].

Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream With Microbeads

Name: Clarins 클라란스 Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream 젠틀 리파이너 엑스폴리에이팅 크림
Price: RM 143.10 for 50 ml
Made in: France

In a moment of weakness, I rang in a purchase at the Clarins stand before I boarded my flight. I tend to lose my marbles over skincare products as well as French brands (a deadly double combination)...

Suitable for all skin types aside from the extremely sensitive, Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream contains soothing Mimosa Extract and is free of parabens. I apply it to cleansed, damp skin in a light, circular motion. The minuscule, evenly sized beads are amazing – they don't feel abrasive yet somehow they manage to slough off my dead skin cells. My skin after rinsing is brilliantly smooth. Better yet, the effect lasts a few days!

At RM 143.10, it is admittedly expensive, but not shockingly so. Considering this day and age, I am sure you have come across exfoliators with price tags that could vie with rocket fuel? Seeing as a pea sized amount is used each time, this 50 ml tube may even work out to be a great value product overall!

Do you use physical exfoliators or are you a chemical convert?

Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent Intensive Brightening Serum

(Source: clarins.com.my/)

Name: Clarins 클라란스 White Plus Total Luminescent Intensive Brightening Serum 화이트 플러스 인텐시브 브라이트닝 세럼
Price: RM 295 for 30 ml
Made in: France

You know those products that take only one evening of use to work its magic on your skin? White Plus Total Luminescent Intensive Brightening Serum is one of them.

This serum has a liquidified gel consistency. It leaves a sticky film that takes a good two minutes (at the very least) to absorb completely, which debunks the instantly blends and dissolves claim.

For reasons unknown, this serum leaves my face extra bouncy. Hydrated and firmer skin is always a bonus! I can't say the brightening aspect is worth shouting about, for I did not note a difference in skin luminosity. The whole purpose of this serum is defeated because it gives off more hydrating benefits (in this case, brightening is more of an afterthought?). Nonetheless, I am loving it a whole lot - the hydrating serums in my arsenal don't work half as well.

All those praises sung upon the scent of Clarins's products? They are right on the mark. It is heavily fragranced but it manages straddle that fine line without going into overbearing territory. To you however, it could be too much, so do give it a good sniff at the counter first.

Will you give this serum a look?
