Magnetic Nails

Are you sick of creme, glitter or even crackle finishes? Try magnets! Nails with texture are extremely popular this season.

From left: one to three coats

Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish 022 is a gorgeous golden bronze. It applies like a dream and two coats are enough to be rid of any translucency. The lasting power is pretty good, I experienced slight wear to the tips the whole time I had it on, which is about five days.

The Ouqian magnetic nail polishes do not come with a magnet, so I had to get this contraption to try the polish out. Three different patterns are included, and the one that I'm most enthusiastic about is the diagonal one which I used in the picture above. It isn't the sturdiest thingamajig in the whole world, but it works pretty well and that is all that matters.

I have to note though that the design is not as faint as pictured (the lighting is too bright) but it doesn't manifest as clearly as seen from China Glaze Magnetix or Nails Inc. Magnetic Polish. I'm uncertain whether this is caused by the magnet (meaning it isn't strong enough) or there's too little iron powder in Ouqian's formulation.

Will you give magnetic nails a try?

Woah! That's a gorgeous bronze! Wasn't it streaky at all? I find that my pearl/metal finishes tend to streak a lot :C it sucksss

But all nails stick to magnets!!!  I used to know all about nails, 10 penny, 12 penny, roofing nails, masonry nails, etc. :D

Oh I remember seeing magnetic polishes ages ago, but they never became a trend. (Possibly because they were ridiculously expensive before) I really love it though, way more subtle and neater than crackle polish!

I love your nail swatches and that colour looks fantastic on your skintone, too

The metallic polish colour is really nice! And the types of magnets you can get is awesome, I've never seen those designs before lol.

I haven't had much luck in getting a good result with magnetic polishes yet... xD

I'm really loving this magnetic polish trend, I think it looks so cool!  I like your design, I think that even though this one is somewhat subtle, it goes well with the shade.  By the way, Scrangie has a great post on perfect magnetic polish application, which I found very useful.

What a gorgeous bronze! I'm not so sure if I really like the magnetic look but I think it looks nice when subtle like yours.

The effect is really lovely in a subtle way. Never really got into the crackle trend which doesn't really suit most folks....
