Name: Yves Saint Laurent Beauté イヴ・サンローラン・ボーテ Matt Touch Compact Foundation マット タッチ コンパクト ファンデーション SPF20 PA++ N° 2 Blond
Price: US$ 57 for 9 g
@cosme rating: 4.0
Release date: 6.3.2009

Experience new sensations with Matt Touch Compact Foundation! This extremely fine powdered compact foundation offers your complexion a sublimely radiant, matt and even finish throughout the day.

Matt Touch Compact Foundation's ultra soft and comfortable texture caresses the skin with the infinite softness of a powdery veil, leaving it naturally smooth and even.

Your complexion radiates with a flawless and long-lasting matteness thanks to the synergetic action of active ingredients with oil-regulating power and anti-shine powders. The texture of the skin is refined; it remains even and fresh for hours. (Source: yslbeautyus.com/)

Even though it’s a tad pink, N° 2 Blond suits my complexion quite well when I use a mauve primer underneath it.

The texture is super smooth and soft. It wears well and I look really natural and glowy in a radiant way after 12 hours. There’s a slight oily sheen on my nose and forehead after 4 hours but that’s alright since I can easily blot it. In addition, I love how it doesn’t cake around my marionette lines and it also conceals the pores on my cheeks.

I’d definitely recommend this foundation to someone who already has a somewhat flawless complexion mainly because it has a sheer but slightly buildable coverage which is insufficient for people who need heavy duty cover (like me). One weird thing about this foundation is it settles into the pores on my nose *urghh*

Hope this review helps ^^ Now, please raise your hand if you're intrigued by Exage's foundation ;D

I tried this foundation some time ago at the counter (since I'm a powder foundation girl), but no shade really suited me, and it was a bit dry. So, I had to skip on this.

Thanks for the review, Blair! And your pictures are so beautiful! ♥

I'm interested in the new Exage powder foundation too! (Although the name is a bit brow raising :P) But it seems like it didn't do too well on cosme.net compared to past versions, when I checked it earlier. :( But maybe the rating has improved now.

Don'tknow if my previous comment went through or not, so I shall comment again..

Sad to say, YSL pulled out of S'pore shores, no chance to swatch and feel the products before buying :(

I am currently using Esprique Precious Dramatical Stay Pact UV EX SPF25 PA++, which works moderately well for me, except that I have to blot after about 4 hrs. But it helps to cover up my pores well!

Sounds like a cool product, except for the pink tint. Argh why can't they make one with a more gold undertone for us Asians? :P

Thanks so much for the review Blair! I'm looking for a new compact mattifying foundation since I think it's safe to say I've basically finished my Dior ones!

I think I need heavier coverage toooo. Actually, yesterday night (at an ungodly hour in the morning) I started translating Kevin's Beauty Manual (taiwanese beauty dudey), and man, that guy has a LOT of foundation tips!! (I only got to chapter 1-3, it takes me A LONG TIME to read Chinese). Some things are so obvious but I didn't really think about it. I thought I was done with powder foundations since nowadays I prefer liquid (heavier coverage, less caking on dry spots), but then he suggested that for people with super oily t-zones (a.k.a. me), to set the t-zone using a mattifying foundation powder. Duh! So now I must get one~~ Hahahaha. Maybe I should have a look at the Chanel one? Or the YSL one, although I swear their colour matches are never good for me =_= They didn't fare too badly in the rankings! ^^

(Call me crazy but I don't like any YSL makeup products.)

I'm reaaaaaally intrigued by the Exage Primal Chiffon Powder...Especially by the name.
Nothing is better than a fix of Primal Chiffon every morning.

But seruiously, I'm always scared that powders could clog my pores. It's like a phobia :/

Hi Blair~ In response to your commment, actually, Maquillage and such costs more than the equivalent of Chanel in the UK! I'm much happier buying European brands which have formulated foundations and such for Asian skins (previously, all my foundations have been bought in Asia, thus my shades are different to european ones). =)

And um, to be honest, I'm not entirely sure what he meant to mixing the purple and white will look dirty. I asked my mum, and she agreed with my translation ^^;; As to wear to put it exactly, I think the purple is really to cancel out any excess yellow tones, and the white is to provide a natural translucency. I'm guessing what he meant was dot the purple within the triangle as shown, and then using the white base almost like a highlighter along the cheekbones, and along the forehead, but making sure they don't mix! Sorry I can't be of more help!

I will try to do some more ^^

And I'm glad your word verification warded off the viagra spams. At least you know your blog is popular when you start getting spam mail XD

Anais!

YSL never caught my attention until recently. Idk, gold is a bit gaudy haha XD

Really? I'm more worried over liquid foundations clogging my pores though!

I'm intrigued and curious about the foundation hehe. But I've just recently purchase Maybelline Dream Matte Foundation, hope it will give me almost thesame results hehe^_^.

Lovely FOTD girl, I like the precise eyeliner application. ^_^

sounds like a good compact here... I think my skin is nvr suitable for compact powder mainly because they always give me this powdery face look especially with flash on. Anyway, sad to hear tat it settles in ur nose pores. I hate that too.. and.. it's so expensive... :(

The YSL foundation looks so pretty --I'm a sucker for anything with a beautiful package! So yes, if the Exage one is just as pretty I'd be intriqued too XD Actually I've never heard of Exage before, is it an Asian brand? Do you tend to wear mostly powder or liquid foundations or both?

Anais said...

Blair,
Haha yeah, liquid fondations are my worst nightmare. Even the high ends ruin my skin. So...

Thanks for the review Blair, I was going to pick up this foundation, but couldn't decide on a colour so I stumbled off LOL!
